41 mins, 2010, Bengali and English with English subtitles
Director: Joshy Joseph
Synopsis:
The film is an affectionate and intimate look at a feminist who brought out voices of the most marginalised women and men. An acclaimed writer and tireless activist of adivasi rights in West Bengal, Mahasweta Devi wrote over hundred novels, numerous short stories and essays, which have been widely translated into many languages of the world. Structurally, the film attempts a macro close-up of Mahasweta Devi mirroring the world outside on to her wide range of moods and expressions, ranging from the tongue-in-cheek to one of doting and affection, from the whimsical and childlike to the formidable.
